British Columbia and Ontario Issue New Provincial Nominations for Skilled Workers

On September 24th, the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) issued 146 invitations through its Skilled Worker, International Graduate stream. Candidates were selected based on their experience in sectors facing labor shortages in the province.

The Skilled Worker, International Graduate stream offers recent graduates from eligible Canadian institutions a pathway to permanent residence (PR) in British Columbia.

To qualify, candidates must:

  • Have graduated from a post-secondary institution within the last three years.
  • Hold a full-time job offer in B.C. within a National Occupation Classification (NOC) TEER category 1, 2, or 3.
  • Meet the province’s language requirements and receive a competitive wage offer.

The International Graduate stream also offers an Express Entry British Columbia (EEBC) option, allowing candidates in the federal Express Entry pool to apply for a provincial nomination, gaining 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.

Ontario

On September 26th, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued 243 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) through the French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream. Candidates with CRS scores between 290 and 445 were invited to apply.

The French-speaking skilled Worker stream provides eligible foreign workers with skilled work experience, strong bilingual proficiency, and post-secondary education an opportunity to secure permanent residency in Canada.

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Have a valid profile in the Express Entry system.
  • Demonstrate language proficiency in both English and French.
  • Receive an NOI from Ontario before applying for a nomination.
