Canada to Send Invitations for Parents and Grandparents PR in 2025

March 7, 2025 – Canada’s Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced plans to send Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) in 2025.

According to IRCC, only individuals who submitted an Interest to Sponsor form in 2020 will be eligible for selection through a lottery system. No new intake for the PGP has been announced.

The government has not provided a specific timeline for the invitations but has assured that further details will be released in the coming months.

In the absence of a new PGP intake, Canadian citizens and permanent residents can consider the Super Visa as an alternative for bringing parents and grandparents to Canada for extended stays.
