With summer travel around the corner, Indian travellers are being advised to plan their Schengen visa applications early due to high demand across European embassies.
According to the European Commission’s 2024 State of Schengen report, Indian nationals submitted 1.1 million visa applications last year—making them one of the top applicant groups.
Switzerland not only tops the list for visa approvals but also currently offers next-day visa appointments in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru, according to VFS.
France is another popular destination, with appointments available from May 26 in Delhi and May 28 in Mumbai. Portugal is also offering next-day slots in Mumbai, although availability in other cities remains limited.
Travellers are encouraged to choose their visa destination strategically and book appointments early to avoid delays and secure their European summer holidays.
