New Brunswick Reopens Immigration Programs with Limited Spaces

Publish Date: 07/02/2025

New Brunswick has started reopening its immigration programs after adjusting to a reduced quota of 2,750 nomination spaces for 2025, set by the federal government. These spots are divided between the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) with 1,500 places and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) with 1,250 places.

Jean - Claude D’Amours, the acting Minister of Post-Secondary Education, stated that the reduction has forced the province to make tough choices, affecting its ability to support businesses and economic growth. As a result, priority will be given to workers in health, education, and construction, while some industries will not be able to participate.

Updates on Immigration Programs

  1. New Brunswick Express Entry – Will start accepting applications soon under two pathways: Employment in New Brunswick and New Brunswick Interests.
  2. New Brunswick Skilled Worker – Now open for applications, with three different streams.
  3. New Brunswick Business Immigration – Open for applicants whose businesses have been running for at least six months.
  4. New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot & Atlantic Immigration Program – Accepting applications as usual.
  5. Private Career College Graduate Program – Open for applications but will end in autumn 2025.
  6. New Brunswick Strategic Initiative – Not accepting applications right now as it already has enough.
