No New Applications for Parents and Grandparents Program in 2025

The Canadian federal government has confirmed that no new applications will be accepted for the Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) in 2025.

Key Updates:

• No New Applications: Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will not accept new sponsorship applications for parents and grandparents in 2025.
• Processing Existing Applications: The IRCC will process only those applications submitted in 2024.
• Application Cap: A total of 15,000 sponsorship applications will be processed throughout the year.

However, Canadian citizens and permanent residents still have the option to sponsor their parents and grandparents through the Super Visa program. This allows relatives to visit and stay in Canada for up to five years at a time.
