ONTARIO Closes Entrepreneur Stream Amid OINP Program Changes

November 4, 2024 – The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has officially closed its Entrepreneur immigration stream, following a pause in application intake since December 2023. The closure marks the end of the stream, and the provincial government is currently processing amendments to “wind down and close” the program.

For applicants who have already submitted to the Entrepreneur stream, their applications will continue under updated regulations. These updates may allow current candidates to still be eligible for a provincial nomination for permanent residence (PR), based on their commitment to establish businesses in Ontario. The OINP will be reaching out to all current applicants and their authorized representatives with further details on how to proceed with their applications.
