Prince Edward Island Conducts Its Fourth PNP Draw of 2025, Issuing 168 Invitations

April 17, 2025The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) held its fourth draw of the year, issuing 168 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) under the Labour Impact and Express Entry categories.

This latest draw specifically targeted candidates already living and working in Prince Edward Island, with emphasis placed on individuals employed in priority occupations and high-demand sectors, including healthcare, trades, and manufacturing.

Notably, international student graduates from select post-secondary institutions—University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), Holland College, and Collège de l’Île—were given further priority in the selection process.

The PEI Office of Immigration emphasized that candidates must have lived and worked in the province for at least one year to be prioritized.

Labour Impact Category – Eligibility Overview

The Labour Impact Category includes three streams:

  • Skilled Worker Stream
  • Critical Worker Stream
  • International Graduate Stream

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be aged between 21 to 59 years
  • Hold a full-time permanent job offer or a minimum two-year contract from a PEI employer
  • Meet a minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) of 4
  • Show sufficient settlement funds
  • Satisfy specific stream-based criteria

Express Entry Stream – Requirements

Candidates must:

  • Hold a valid Express Entry profile under one of the federal immigration programs:
    • Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
    • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
    • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
  • Meet PEI-specific criteria if applying with a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) or spousal open work permit from studies outside PEI, including:
    • A minimum of nine months of continuous work with a PEI employer
    • At least four months of validity on the current work permit

Applicants must also register in the PEI Expression of Interest (EOI) system, which maintains profiles for up to six months. Only one active EOI profile is permitted per candidate at a time.
