Vetasses Resumes New Applications For Chef And Fitter (general) Occupations From 12 June, 2024

VETASSESS has announced the reopening of accepting new applications for the occupations of Chef and Fitter (General). This decision comes after a temporary pause initiated in September 2023 to prioritize processing existing applications.

Starting from June 12, 2024, applicants can lodge new applications for the following:

• Chef (Commercial Cookery), ANZCO Code 351311
• Chef (Asian Cookery), ANZCO Code 351311
• Fitter (General), ANZCO Code 323211

These occupations will be open for new applications under both Pathway 1 and Pathway 2 of the OSAP and TSS programs.

The temporary pause was in place to focus on current cases, and the reopening follows extensive discussions with Trades Recognition Australia (TRA).

However, new applications for the following occupations remain paused:

• Electrician (General), ANZSCO Code 341111
• Metal Machinist (First Class), ANZSCO Code 323214
