- The initial focus is on the development of a Workforce Mobility Plan specifically for jobs under Australian Industry Labour Agreements.
- The plan focuses on institutional strengthening in India, adopting the Australian VET curriculum, and creating smoother migration pathways.
- This Collaboration involves employers, trainers, and governments to identify and prepare skilled Indian workers for employment in Australia.
Priority industries: hospitality, automotive, agriculture, and aged care.
Roles and Responsibilities:
NSDC:
- Identifying and working with organizations and Sector Skill Councils in India.
- Providing gap training, English language training, and preliminary skills assessment.
VETASSESS
- Assessing skills and training of Indian workers.
- Facilitating gap training and certification in collaboration with institutions in both countries.
- Working with industry bodies in Australia to identify job demands and employers who can sponsor workers.
