August Express Entry Breakdown
During August, five express entry draws were conducted and more than a thousand invitations were offered to the applicants as IRCC resumed its bi-weekly draw program. These draws are based on the changes that Immigration Minister, Marc Miller revealed recently, some of which are: The emphasis on recruiting candidates that are already in the country. Miller also underlined that he would like to focus on those persons who are temporary residents, for example, people with work permits in relation to housing issues as well as with regard to the annual immigration goal which must be fulfilled without exceeding the housing stock.
August saw five Express Entry draws, issuing over 10,000 ITAs as Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) returned to its bi-weekly draw schedule.

Focus on Francophone Immigration
Canada has also cultured to focus on Francophone immigration though this has been more so outside the Quebec region. By 2026, Canada also wants to raise the share of Francophone immigrants from 6 percent for this year to 8 percent. In total, up until 2024, the seven French-skills CO draws have issued more than 19,000 ITAs in total.
