Malaysia has announced that Indian nationals can continue visiting the country without a visa until December 31, 2026. A similar exemption has also been given to Chinese nationals. This allows both groups to stay in Malaysia for up to 30 days without needing a visa.
The decision is part of Malaysia's preparations for its 2025 ASEAN chairmanship and Visit Malaysia Year 2026. This visa exemption, which started in 2023, is expected to help boost tourism.
Two airlines currently operate flights between Kolkata and Kuala Lumpur. Indian travelers are spending 10-15% more than last year and are staying longer, typically between 6 to 15 days.
With the visa exemption, Malaysia hopes to attract more visitors and support its economy through tourism
