USCIS Reaches H-1B Visa Cap for FY 2025: Next Steps for Applicants

Publish Date: 04/12/2024

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has announced that it has reached the congressionally mandated H-1B visa cap for fiscal year 2025. This includes the 65,000 visas allocated under the regular cap and the additional 20,000 for U.S. advanced degree holders under the master’s cap.

USCIS will issue non-selection notices to applicants not selected in the H-1B lottery. However, the agency will continue processing cap-exempt petitions, such as extensions, amendments, or changes of employers for current H-1B workers.
