300 Prospective Marriage Visa


The Prospective Marriage Subclass 300 visa allows you to come to Australia to marry your prospective spouse.

If you are granted this visa, you should marry your prospective spouse and apply for a Partner (subclasses 820 and 801) visa before your Prospective Marriage visa (subclass 300) expires.

Length of Stay: 9 months

Cost: AUD 1,285

Location: You must be outside Australia when the application is lodged and when a decision is made on the visa.

ELIGIBILITY

You must:

  • intend to marry your prospective spouse
  • have met and know your prospective spouse
  • be at least 18 years of age
  • You must be sponsored by your spouse
  • You must meet Australian Health and Character requirements
  • You must not have any outstanding debts to the Australian Government

Processing Time: 75% of application processed in 12 months, and 90% of applications processed in in 16 months.

What you can do with this visa

  • travel to and stay in Australia for up to nine months
  • work in Australia
  • study in Australia at your own expense
  • travel in and outside Australia as many times as you want
