804 Aged Parent Visa

The Aged Parent Subclass 804 visa lets the parent of a settled Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen live in Australia permanently.

Length of Stay: Permanent

Cost: AUD 6,415

This visa is paid in two parts:

• First instalment - paid at the time of application lodgement
• Second instalment – Paid when advised by immigration

Location: You must be in Australia when the application is lodged and when a decision is made on the visa

ELIGIBILITY

• You must have a child who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen.
• You must be at the age where you are eligible for an Age Pension in Australia. (65+ years)
• Must meet health and character requirements
• You must be sponsored. Usually, this will be your child who must be: -18 years old or older -an Australian Citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.
• You must meet the balance-of-family test. This means that: -at least half of your children live permanently in Australia -more of your children live permanently in Australia than in any other country.
• You must be able to obtain an Assurance of Support
• You must have repaid, or have arranged to repay, any outstanding debts to the Australian government.
