ELE Ltd. Receivership: Immigration NZ's Swift Action

Publish Date: 31/01/2024

ELE Limited, a skilled labor hire agency in construction and manufacturing, has gone into receivership. Immigration New Zealand is aware of this situation and acknowledges the difficulty it poses for employees on Accredited Employer Work Visas (AEWV).

As of January 31, 361 migrant workers associated with ELE Limited have been identified, including builders, laborers, and carpenters. Out of the total, 302 workers are currently in New Zealand, while 59 are overseas.

The numbers are updated from earlier estimates after a data reconciliation process. It excludes workers on open work visas or those who are New Zealand residents or citizens.

Immigration New Zealand is actively collaborating with the employer, employees, and other stakeholders. The goal is to ensure that affected workers can remain in New Zealand legally. Efforts are underway to explore options for those workers who are currently overseas.
