Act Engineers Gain Registration For Enhanced Safety & Standards

Engineers in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) can now register under the Professional Engineers Registration Scheme, effective from 6th March. This scheme applies to individuals offering professional engineering services within the ACT or on projects for the ACT.

•   Phase one of registration, starting from March 6, 2024, is open for civil and structural engineers.
•   Phase two, slated for July 2024, will register professional mechanical engineers.
•   Electrical and fire safety engineers can register starting from November 2024.

Compulsory registration for all professional engineers will be required from March 6, 2025, with compliance and enforcement measures in place.
