Melbourne, Australia – VETASSESS has announced that it now offers skills assessments for 692 occupations under the Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) program, significantly broadening opportunities for skilled and semi-skilled workers in regional Australia.
DAMAs are designed to help employers in regional areas address labor shortages by enabling them to hire overseas workers for roles that cannot be filled locally. The program covers a wide range of occupations, including those in both trades and professional sectors
To qualify for a DAMA skills assessment through VETASSESS, applicants must secure an employer offer or sponsorship. Employers must first gain endorsement from their Designated Area Representatives (DAR) before lodging a labor agreement request with the Australian Government’s Department of Home Affairs.
Once the employer offer or sponsorship is in place, the applicant can proceed with a VETASSESS skills assessment, a crucial step in the migration process.
VETASSESS provides skills assessments for the following DAMAs:
The occupations assessed under each DAMA vary according to the specific needs of the region, reflecting the unique economic and labor demands of each area.
This expansion of VETASSESS's services under the DAMA program underscores its commitment to supporting regional Australia and facilitating pathways for skilled migrants.
