IRCC will be raising the cost of living requirements for a single study applicant from $10,000 to $20,635 in effect from 1st January 2024.
Alongside, IRCC also extending the waiver on the working hours for students 20 hours per week after 30th April 2024. Though, the students already are in Canada as of 7th December 2023 are elgible for this extension.
The department announces that updated financial guidelines will now apply to the Student Direct Stream (SDS), a study permit stream designed for faster processing of applications from residents of 14 countries.
