The new minimum wage in four Canadian provinces, including Ontario, will take effect on October 1, 2024. Here's a detailed look at the new rates across these provinces.
Ontario Minimum Wage Starting October 1, 2024, the minimum wage in Ontario will rise from $16.55 to $17.20 per hour. Students under 18 working 28 hours a week or fewer during the school year or on breaks will see their wages increase from $15.60 to $16.20 per hour. Home workers will also receive a higher rate, increasing from $18.20 to $18.90 per hour.

Prince Edward Island Minimum Wage Prince Edward Island's minimum wage will increase from $15.40 to $16.00 per hour on October 1, 2024. The previous increase took effect on April 1, 2024.
