Temporary Foreign Workers in Manitoba's PNP Pool to Get 2-Year Work Permits, Path to Permanent Residency

Immigration Minister Marc Miller securing a new work permit extension policy to address expired or expiring work authorizations for temporary residents.

The policy targets 6,700 temporary workers in Manitoba whose permits expire in 2024, offering them open work permits.

Manitoba initiated the request to extend work status for temporary residents employed in the province. The province relies on these workers to meet its labour needs.

Minister Miller announced a new policy granting open work permits to eligible temporary workers in Manitoba's PNP Expression of Interest pool.

It has been anticipated that these workers will receive a formal nomination from Manitoba and become permanent residents within two years.

Recently, Manitoba PNP conducted a huge round of invitations for the International Education Stream on May 2nd.
